DESCRIPTION: Remarkably pretty wood with lots of variation & character. Texture is fine & uniform; grain often interlocked. The wood works with some difficulty due to its hardness and density, and sharp tools must be used. Easy to finish and takes an excellent polish. Dark reddish brown to golden brown or tan with lots of variation and alternating color. OTHER NAMES: Black poisonwood, Caribbean Rosewood, Chechem, Chechem negro, Chechen, Poisontree COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: Central America, Mexico, Yucatan USES: Furniture, flooring, turnery, accessories, musical instruments, small parts. SIZES: The stock is surfaced on two sides to 13/16" thickness by 4" & wider by 36"-59" in lengths. NOTE: Widths & lengths may vary up to 1/16" of an inch.
